Living in Spokane during basketball season the only team that you better watch is the Gonzaga Bulldogs. They have been a top performing team for the past few years and the fans and students are very loyal. Trying to get tickets to the game is next to impossible and season ticket holders are sought after especially once it gets closer to tournament time. The Zags took a hard loss from the San Diego during the final game of the West Coast Conference Championship. Winning the league championship assures the winner an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. The Zags had beaten San Diego twice this year and just last week put a 34 point beating on the boys from Southern California. It must have been sweet revenge since the head coach was an assistant coach at Gonzaga. The game was all San Diego as they looked much more determined to win the game and had something to prove and the Zags were a bit more lethargic. The local tournaments bring in alumni and fans from all over the country and help the local economy as teams and fans seek local places to eat and party.
