Marketing with Nworkz

Posted by Jeff R under blogging

We recently received a box of fortune cookies from an online social network that we contribute to occasionally. The site is HubPages.com and they have a great network of people where you can write your own Hubs and then they share the traffic and revenue that is generated that are produced for your articles. It is not like getting paid to blog, but rather joining a large social community where you can write and comment on each others writings and life’s lessons. The idea behind the fortune cookies were to give out to friends and family as they had a great little message about Hubpages.com and also my very own referral link that if they sign I can receive a certain percentage of traffic that they generate to their hubs. Great idea and it looks like we will be having chinese for dinner tonight with some of the neighbors.

Well since I am a man (last time I checked), I thought I might could give some gift suggestions for the ladies looking for a gift for the man in her life. It all depends on what type of man you have; when you decide on that perfect gift. Let’s say he likes music or maybe plays in a band. That tells me he likes entertainment and look for something in the entertainment industry. Perhaps a movie about the story of a band or a  home theater system might be a good gift for him. If this seems out of your price range a bit, I guess you could get him one of Kranks Guitar Amplifiers like the Nineteen80 to help him live out his dream of jamming with the big boys.

The sports guys would like a jersey from his favorite player or team. Also you might be able to look for a good sports bloopers movie to get him and it’s something you both can have fun watching! The nerdy guys that stay up on all the latest tech gadgets might be a little tricky to buy for. Since they already know what the latest and greatest things are, you will probably be better off just getting him a gift certificate from an electronics store. For the men that like to hunt, there is something he can never have enough of and that’s bullets! So finding out what type of gun he owns and buying him the right ammo for his gun is a safe gift or you can shell out a few more dollars and get him a new gun, bow or coon dog. The fisherman likes the fishing lures, so just buy a huge variety of lures and I’m sure you will have several that he will like to fish with; when the weather warms back up.

Blogs are here to stay on the Net and they grow in popularity by the day. Many online marketers and advertisers are learning the advantages that blogs offer as a marketing tool. Blogs help direct or point more links to a website and this helps get better search engine rankings. We all want better stats with traffic and being listed as high as possible on the search engines. The webmasters that are adding a blog or blogs to their arsenal of online marketing weapons are seeing just how effective they are. There are even people like Samuel Foti President and Chief Operating Officer of the MONY Group Inc. using blog directories like delicious.com in order to capture and create awareness about their business and what they have accomplished.

You can find many places online that offer free blogs. A free blog is a good place to start and get your feet wet, but the blogs you host on a paid domain will do better than the majority of free blogs. I have seen some of the free blogs with great PR numbers and you can make a free blog work for you. The main thing is to stick with a niche for your blog and keep fresh content on it. If you can add new material each day to your blog, you will have much better success with getting your blog indexed and the amount of links you will have coming in from the top search engines out there. If you haven’t tried working the blog angle yet with your online business, then give it a try today and see if a blog can be used as a marketing tool for your online promotions.

Consumer Generated Media (CGM) is making it’s mark in the online blogging world. Many companies are now using blogs and online forums and email marketing to help create brand awareness and a buzz about their new products. The use of blogs has created a growth in the number of people creating their own blogs. Some examples of CGM would include blog entries, consumer email feedback, message board posts, forum comments, websites, and consumer generated email. The great thing about CGM is that it leaves a digital fingerprint and can really help a large company or even a small upstart create Brand equity. This avenue for marketing has also created a division among those who write on major blogs as to whether this creates a conflict of interest and does paying other to write about your product influence their opinion.

Some of the highly read blogs will use customer survey tools  to help interact and gain feedback from their readers as well. This adds another dimension to help find out what your customers are wanting to hear about and then making sure that your blog is meeting those expectations. As their readers grow so will their RSS feeds which is what people will sign up for in order to receive daily or weekly feeds about site updates. The blog owners can then create an email campaign that will target those users and then be able to create more interest and buzz for their site. They can then highlight other bloggers or advertisers in their campaigns to grow their revenue which can be used to reinvest back into the site to increase their search and marketing position.

Online furniture shopping

Posted by admin92 under blogging

If you’re really looking for some nice quality furniture, then I have a good place for you to look at.  If your looking to spruce up a room in your new or existing home, then you will really find some nice pieces of furniture online. I know a lot of us like to start with the living room furniture. Getting the couch, a few end tables, a tv stand, and perhaps a coffee table in the middle of the room. Looking at some of the Sectional Sofas I can see this being the main piece of furniture. A nice big sofa that a lot of your guests will easily be able to sit on is important when you start adding furniture for the living room. This will keep you from going to the kitchen and grabbing those extra chairs when you have company over. If you don’t have a lot of company that comes over, then maybe choosing a leather sofa would make the most sense for you.

Another room in the house that we want to have the best furniture in, is the bedrooms. After all, if we get our 8 hours of sleep in each night like we are suppose to be getting, then we will spend 1/3 of our lives in our bedrooms.  All of your twin, queen, and king size beds are available, but some of these bedroom suits are really fancy. You just don’t have to get a queen or king size bed and mattress, but you can live like a queen or king with some of these bedroom suits. The 4 Post King or Queen Canopy Bed & Set is really a king-like bedroom suit. It really has a grand-look to it, with the posts towering high above the bed. This is one of the bedroom suits that caught my eye. There is also a nice selection of bedroom suits for the girls and boys room too. You can find really nice furniture for the little ones, while you’re shopping for your furniture.

Getting a good nights sleep

Posted by admin92 under blogging

Our kids are getting to the age where the beds and dressers that they have had for 5 plus years is starting to look a little dated. I noticed this just this past week when they had friends over and they were all huddled around one of the bunk beds trying to get their turn on the Xbox. So my wife went on a search to find what is new and exciting in kids furniture and actually found ourselves evaluating our own set that we have had for over 15 years.

Some of the new furniture sets that you can find online will help you to realize just how outdated your current bedroom furniture is and what can be had today. I especially love the low lying platform beds that are both practical and functional. So instead of the bed taking over the entire room it actually serves to help the flow of the room and actually give the perception that you have more room. The new memory foam mattresses are also a great investment and will offer some of the best nights sleep that you will have. I was intrigued by the leather beds which come in a wide range of sizes and colors that would go nicely with a new memory foam matteress. This is something that I have not seen in our local stores and could be a interesting option for a guest bedroom that we are finishing in our basement. The head board is made of leather and in this case crocodile leather which can add a bit of flare to any room. The look and feel of this bed could really set the guest bedroom apart and may not be such a bad place to sleep in case the wife and I get in an argument.

playing bingo online

Posted by Jeff R under blogging

We were watching the latest episode of Las Vegas and one of the high rollers was only interested in playing bingo. I remember when I was younger going to some of the local bingo parlors only to walk away empty handed and smelling like smoke. I never got into all the rituals that you will find at the local bingo parlor like having the troll dolls and knowing the different sayings when certain letters came up. This is why I love the internet where you can play online bingo and poker from the comfort of your home and the time you want to play. You can even get Zynga poker chips to play with at zynga.com to take on your friends from around the states or on facebook. Finding an online bingo game has been made simple thanks to two new sites that provide reviews and other entertainment games. Here you will find some great sites to play bingo and maybe G 55 will be called to get you the Texas Blackout.

Getting a new ride

I have been watching the latest ads for the new Toyota Prius with it’s newly designed 3rd generation hybrid. I am fascinated by it’s ability to use solar panels that are built into the moon roof to help run the air conditioning in the car which can be a huge fuel saver. With the rising fuel prices and the demand for more cleaner and economical cars this segment is one of the fastest growing in the auto industry. This can only help other transportation providers like those that make motorcycles and ATV’s. The ability to get a and find  motorcycle loans has become easier thanks in part to the health of the industry and dealerships offering up some great incentives. Sites like Powersportstv.com has a lot of great resources that can help you locate a dealer in your area and find out about the latest gear and equipment that deal with motorcycles, ATV’s and four wheel off road vehicles. They even have one of the largest forums that is specifically tailored towards a bike and ATV enthusiasts.

Finding a job

Five part-time summer jobs teens may want to avoid

Let’s face it. Not all part-time summer jobs are good summer jobs – in fact, some are downright dangerous, especially for teens. Here are five summer jobs that teens may want to avoid this summer.

1. Agriculture fieldwork and processing jobs: Not only do you run the risk of losing a limb while working with heavy machinery, you can suffer heat stroke, pesticide poisoning or accidental suffocation in grain silos.

2. Traveling sales crew jobs: Traveling sales jobs pose a great danger to teens looking for work. These sales crews often force teens to work long hours selling magazines or other items, charge teen workers for expenses like rent and food and sometimes even rob them. Stay clear of this one.

3. Construction jobs: Construction is one of the most dangerous jobs in America, period. Falls, electric wires and falling objects are some of the most common causes of death and injury among construction workers. Don’t work for any construction company unless they give you the proper training and equipment to do the job safely.

4. Driver/operator of forklifts, tractors or ATVs: Operating this equipment may seem fun, but it’s not a safe job for teens. This heavy equipment has seriously hurt people by rolling forward or tipping over.

5. Landscaping, groundskeeping or lawn service jobs: Mowing lawns is a classic summer job, but lawnmowers, hedge trimmers and chainsaws can be dangerous. If you work a landscaping job, wear goggles, gloves and other protection when handling pesticides and power tools.
