Advertising and texting
It looks like marketers are learning about texting. So many kids today are using this new form of communication and they do it from their cell phones. It’s better than just calling up a friend that you might have and just want to tell them one thing. Texting allows you to just send a quick message to your friend and you don’t have to worry about all the small talk that you normally would do over the telephone.
Advertisers and marketers see this and want to capitalize on it. So they are looking for ways to get a company slogan or picture sent along with these text messages. They may target those with keywords like flaky scalp to those engaging in a conversation about hair care products in order to increase awareness. Even fast chains are using this tool to grab customers at the time of purchase. So every time someone looks at their text message they might see something like a domino in their cell phone screens. This would be the logo for Domino’s Pizza and maybe the kid’s next phone call would be to order pizza? I’m not sure if Domino’s or exactly which companies are trying to get in on the craze, I have just heard they are looking into it. Anyway to capitalize on any fad is a good way to quickly boost sales. Judging by how many people have cell phones and how often they use them for texting, I think this will be something that will hang around for awhile. So if you haven’t got a course on computer talk and understand things like “lol” (laugh out loud), now might be a good time to get it in. So you can understand what your friend might be trying to tell you. TTYL (talk to you later)
Consumers are finding their way to web pages through search engines for the most part, and many are starting to use social networks as a way to communicate and find potential products. More and more companies are setting up consumer blogs or blogs that are targeted at specific age groups. The explosion of such sites as MySpace and Second life are creating whole new avenues in which to experience the internet. There are several companies that can help to provide website optimization services that are tailored to your company and target audience. They offer a full service website design and internet marketing platform for small and midsized companies. The real trick is making sure that you do your homework and make sure that you do not base your decision on price alone.
